Dr. Ivan Galić
MD, Specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (FEBPRM)

Dr. Ivan Galić completed his medical studies at the University of Zagreb in 2011 with excellent success.
In 2020, he became a specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. In the same year, he passed the European board examination before the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, earning the title FEBPRM (Fellow of the European Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine).
He worked for three years at the Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation Krapinske Toplice, in the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, where he gained extensive experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions – particularly after strokes, as well as in degenerative diseases of the nervous system such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, and in peripheral nerve injuries and spinal cord injuries.
A particular focus of his work lies in the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system, especially involving the knees and shoulders, joint degeneration, tendinopathies, and spinal syndromes.
In addition, Dr. Galić is actively involved in sports rehabilitation, postoperative rehabilitation following orthopedic procedures, and rehabilitation after injuries. His approach combines evidence-based medical practice with individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and optimizing recovery for each patient.
He is currently practicing at the Special Hospital Arithera in Zagreb, Croatia.
Clinical Skills
Assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders, including rehabilitation planning
Providing diagnosis and treatment, as well as planning and overseeing rehabilitation for patients with musculoskeletal conditions in an outpatient setting. This includes working with a wide range of diagnoses such as:
- Osteoarthritis of both small and large joints
- Post-traumatic conditions
- Postoperative states following orthopedic procedures
- Tendinopathies and overuse syndromes
- Lumbalgia (lower back pain) and cervicalgia (neck pain)
- Myofascial pain syndromes
- Cervical and lumbosacral radiculopathies
- Compressive neuropathies
- Degenerative spine disorders
- CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)
- Osteoporosis and chronic pain syndromes
Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, including:
- Ultrasound-guided infiltrations (“nerve blocks”) and joint or soft tissue punctures
- Application of the dry needling technique, including combination with local anesthetic infiltration at trigger points
- Joint and bursa punctures, as well as infiltrations of joints, tendons, and bursae without ultrasound guidance
Advanced therapy techniques:
- Treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) – primarily intra-articular and peritendinous infiltrations under ultrasound guidance
- Ultrasound-guided infiltration of the carpal tunnel
- Barbotage or lavage of calcific deposits in the shoulder under ultrasound guidance
